Senior Director, Hardware Product Management

As the Hardware and City Tech Product Leader, you lead the product management organization responsible for defining what we build and why, overseeing a high-performing team to set the vision and roadmap for physical and digital vehicle experience. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates to reside in San Francisco, CA; if not local, travel to San Francisco is expected typically 1x per month.

Responsibilities

Define the multi-year product strategy for next-generation vehicle platforms and future mobility modes; Lead a team of Product Leaders across specialized workstreams including Next-Gen Vehicle Platforms, Upgrades to Existing Fleet, Reducing TCO, and City Technologies; Oversee strategy and execution of global technology pilots; Partner with engineering leaders to inspect key programs weekly and make quick decisions; Ensure hardware and city tech is represented to city officials during RFP process; Ensure team alignment on product strategies for scalable solutions across multiple vehicle modes; Own product vision and execution of city technology and safety innovation; Set product goals to reduce Total Cost of Ownership; Partner with Hardware Engineering, Firmware, IoT, Backend, Government Relations, Operations, User Experience, Research, Design, and Finance

Requirements

U.S. based position; Extensive experience managing and scaling product management teams in a fast-paced environment; Proven leader of leaders; Proven track record of leading product management for complex, integrated products that span both hardware and software; Eager to roll up sleeves and dive into details of hardware prototypes or field operations; Curious; Experience presenting technical products to external stakeholders, regulators, or government officials in high-pressure environments; Experience leading end-to-end lifecycle of physical products from concept and global pilots to full-scale deployment; Ability to define high-leverage product requirements that allow engineering to build scalable solutions across multiple vehicle modes; Experience using experimentation and User Research to make informed product decisions; Strong ability to deep-dive into financial analysis and modeling

Nice to have

Familiarity with IoT, embedded SW, and Computer Vision; Preference for candidates residing in San Francisco, CA
