Senior Mobile Engineer

Nory is a restaurant management system that blends real-time data with machine learning and autonomous agents to give operators real control of their margins. We're looking for our first dedicated Senior Mobile Engineer to join our Platform team. This is a true builder's role with big impact - you'll be shaping Nory's mobile app from the ground up. Design support here is lean - so you'll often be the one making and defending the UX call yourself.

Responsibilities

Own the mobile platform end to end; assess what's there, set architecture, plan migration and ship an MVP in one to two quarters; grow the rebuild into a platform; build for real world with offline caching; own native-only features like push notifications, camera scanning and geolocation-verified clock-in; make and defend product and UX calls; set up the design system and put AI agents to work in parallel; work closely with design and engineering; stay outward-facing as the core of a small platform team

Requirements

Deep React Native experience; comfort across the stack; shipped production React Native apps in TypeScript; can run a mobile codebase on your own start to finish; built native-only features like push notifications, camera access or geolocation; comfortable enough in the backend to read and lightly extend our FastAPI services; happy dropping into our React web codebase when needed; build for scale and reliability; have worked on apps with tens of thousands of actions a day; care about product and UX; build with AI while holding a high bar; done a from-scratch build or big migration; own problems, not tickets; outward-facing and communicate clearly and confidently; right to work in the UK or EU without sponsorship required

Nice to have

Experience building people tech or HR tech workflows at scale; background on a web and mobile platform team; experience building B2C or consumer-grade apps; hands-on tinkering with native APIs (Swift or Kotlin); experience in hospitality, food service or another operational industry
