Senior Product Builder, Organizational Intelligence

You will build the layer that makes Vanta's data actually useful: a single interpretive layer that reads across every source of truth and makes them queryable, reasoned-over, and genuinely illuminating — for EPD, for GTM, and for anyone in the org trying to understand what's happening and why. The EPD Systems team is building the infrastructure Vanta's engineering, product, and design organization depends on to understand itself. This is a builder role. You will ship working things yourself — prototypes, internal tools, agent workflows. You will not hand specs to someone else and wait. Communication isn't a separate deliverable; it's how you learn what to build.

Responsibilities

Build the intelligence layer: a cross-source interpretive layer that reads across Vanta's sources of truth and makes them queryable and reasoned-over by EPD leadership, GTM, and beyond; Define what to build: scope the problem yourself, make explicit tradeoffs about what to defer, and own the sequence of what gets built and when; Ship working things yourself: prototypes, internal tools, agent workflows — using AI as part of how you work, not what you report on; Understand the organization: go to the teams whose decisions this layer will serve — GTM, G&A, EPD — and come back knowing what they can't answer today; Catch and address AI-specific quality problems — reliability, cost, latency, drift, bad answers — before they cause damage; Build on top of what the Signal Collection and EPD OS roles are constructing; understand what's trustworthy and what's coming

Requirements

You scope ambiguous problems yourself — you don't wait for the mandate to sharpen before you start. You're comfortable showing unpolished work, and you're honest about when to push ahead alone vs. pull in an engineer; You've shipped real things with LLM tooling recently, and your approach has changed in the last six months. If someone described AI architecture to you and their thinking hadn't evolved since last year, that would tell you something; You change behavior across orgs you don't control — GTM, G&A — through what you build and how you communicate, not through authority; You know what quality means when building with AI: reliability, cost, latency, edge cases, drift. You've caught a real quality problem before it caused damage, and you stayed with it after it was technically "shipped"; You find root causes rather than symptoms, and you think through second- and third-order effects before you make a change; No CS degree required, no pedigree gate. Real, recent, shipped work and the ability to learn fast are what clear our bar; Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
