Senior Robotics Software Engineer

As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Charge Robotics, you'll be working full-stack and playing a direct role in deploying gigawatts of clean power generation. Charge Robotics is a Series A startup building robots that build solar farms.

Responsibilities

Architecting, building, documenting, testing, and iterating on software for the robotic factory installation system; developing perception, motion planning, and controls software for reliable operation in unstructured field conditions; contributing to low-level software powering robotic systems in factories and delivery vehicles, with emphasis on correctness and safety; controlling industrial automation hardware including linear actuators, motors, and hydraulic systems

Requirements

Experienced Python developer; comfortable with at least one lower-level language like C++; experience writing real-time, embedded, or robotics software; ability to instrument and develop highly performant software as a team member, including writing clean code, documenting it, testing it, and using version control and CI; experience working in a fast-paced startup environment; excited to work with giant robots; excellent written and verbal communication skills; based in or able to relocate to the SF Bay Area and able to work 4-5 days/week from the San Leandro HQ; open to ~10% travel to field (solar construction sites); excited to see work deployed onto actual solar farms

Nice to have

Experience with industrial robot arms, motion planning, or automation systems; 4-year degree in computer science, robotics, or a related field; gain satisfaction from playing a part in mitigating climate change
