As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be at the foundation of Workday’s technology, building software that empowers engineering teams to rapidly-develop, test and ship high-quality products, and helping craft the next generation of Workday Developer Tools. Our team follows a hybrid remote model built on trust and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

Develop software to improve Workday Product Engineering teams’ productivity; Build software that empowers engineering teams to rapidly-develop, test and ship high-quality products; Provide scalable and robust development and testing tools for an efficient continuous delivery platform; Help craft the next generation of Workday Developer Tools; Shape the development lifecycle for other developers who build Workday Products

Requirements

8+ years of software development experience leading technical initiatives, designing complex systems, and ensuring scalability and maintainability; 8+ years of Object Oriented and/or Functional Design and Programming (Java, Javascript, Ruby, Scala, etc.); Deep expertise in API Development and designing, building and shipping microservices; Experience with automation, CI/CD or web testing software; Demonstrated ability to deliver on time in a fast-paced agile environment; Proven ability in writing technical design documents and collaborating within a software development team; BS/MS in Computer Science or related technical field; Problem-solving and analytical skills; Communication and collaboration skills; Business context understanding

Nice to have

Test focused with good TDD / Unit & System Testing, debugging and profiling skills; Curious and thoughtful on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to reduce friction and improve Development Lifecycle productivity; Experienced with common IDEs, build & CI/CD tooling (IntelliJ, Git, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, Harness, Artifactory); Cloud & Infrastructure experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP), containerization technologies (Docker), and data engineering pipelines (ETL); Good code review skills and capacity to both provide and act on constructive feedback
