Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack (App Experience)

The Marketplace and App Experience domain is the main pillar of our core consumer strategy, driving the user journey across all of our frontend surfaces: Mobile and Web. The teams span across multiple products and areas to engage and provide value to our customers, starting with the Home hub in the app or website, which expands into the various product offers and journeys a user can embark on with Affirm. This role will be at the forefront of our front-end facing cross-team projects, working closely with other teams and engineers across our mobile and web technologies, while also evolving and collaborating with every product experience team at Affirm.

Responsibilities

Break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery; Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics, participating in ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions considering risks and trade-offs; Support the operations and availability of team artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating when needed, and supporting keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts; Contribute to team community through growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process

Requirements

4+ years of experience as a software engineer; Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue; Experience shipping mobile apps using native or cross-platform languages like React Native; Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using languages like Kotlin or Python; Mastery of taking a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components, writing clear, easily understood, well tested and extensible code; Comfortable navigating a large code base, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews; Takes ownership of growth, proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
