Senior Software Engineer (.Net)

Cogniter Technologies is a growing IT solutions company delivering innovative, scalable, and business-focused software solutions to clients worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer (.NET) with 5+ years of professional experience to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, excellent programming skills, and a solid understanding of software development practices. The candidate should be capable of building secure, scalable, and high-performance applications while working effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable web and enterprise applications using Microsoft technologies; Develop robust applications using C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and SQL Server; Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions; Design, develop, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs, web services, and third-party APIs; Write clean, reusable, scalable, and maintainable code in accordance with coding standards and best practices; Contribute to application architecture, database design, and technical decision-making; Troubleshoot, debug, optimize, and enhance existing applications; Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality, security, scalability, and performance standards; Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, UI/UX Designers, and other development teams throughout the software development lifecycle; Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives; Identify opportunities to improve application performance, development processes, and overall product quality; Ensure timely delivery of reliable, high-quality software solutions

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in .NET application development; Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Framework, .NET Core, and SQL Server; Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), SOLID principles, and design patterns; Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services; Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap; Experience with Git or other version control systems; Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development practices; Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and coding best practices; Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills

Nice to have

Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular, React.js, or Vue.js; Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms; Experience with Entity Framework or other ORM frameworks; Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices; Understanding of application security, scalability, and performance optimization; Experience integrating third-party APIs, cloud services, and external systems; Knowledge of modern software architecture and development practices
