Shared Services Accountant

An Accountant in the Shared Services - General Accounting department performs processing- and transaction-level accounting and control functions while gaining exposure to and being trained on some higher-level functions. The overall purpose and objective of this job is to transfer many of those functions from the dealership level to a centralized location to improve both efficiency and effectiveness/quality.

Responsibilities

Add bill-of-lading info into the Shared Services BOL tracking depository; Assist with general department tasks such as progress/status tracking and reporting; Obtain and pay off inventory financing ("floor plan"); Assist senior accountants in the performance of monthly floor plan reconciliation; Assist senior accountants in the performance of monthly manufacture-to-accounting inventory reconciliation; Assist senior accountants in the performance of monthly bank reconciliation; Research, understand, and document processes at dealerships to facilitate the expansion of Shared Services; Perform other accounting functions, potentially including stocking in inventory, posting general entries; Communicate with dealership, lender, and manufacturer contacts to investigate and resolve issues; Work closely with other team members to cross train and share best practices

Requirements

Strong written and spoken communication skills; Proficiency with Excel; Accounting degree typically required, or another (or incomplete) degree with adequate accounting courses and/or training
