Shipper/Receiver

Position is responsible for the final check, prep, painting, and packaging of all shafts. Shipping paperwork will be prepared for all shafts to be shipped by common carrier and the containers will be labelled and marked per established procedures. Appropriate paperwork is completed and distributed for all repair shafts or parts received. Other duties will include the proper storage and handling of any and all hazardous chemicals used in the painting process and the painting of miscellaneous machinery as needed.

Responsibilities

Final check, prep, painting, and packaging of all shafts; Prepare shipping paperwork for shafts shipped by common carrier; Label and mark containers per established procedures; Complete and distribute paperwork for repair shafts or parts received; Properly store and handle hazardous chemicals used in the painting process; Paint miscellaneous machinery as needed; Verify accessories listed on sales order are installed or included; Build shipping crates or prepare shipping cores; Package goods and affix labels/documentation; Weigh shafts and complete common carrier paperwork; Assist carrier with loading; Receive repair items and complete paperwork; Mark identification and move repair items; Maintain inventory of paint and shipping supplies; Clean and maintain equipment; Wear and maintain proper safety equipment; Replace filter in paint booth exhaust system; Work in a safe manner following established policies and procedures

Requirements

High school education with some specialized training related to the building trades; Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and reach job related decisions following existing policies, procedures or precedents; Mathematical aptitude in calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages; Ability to communicate effectively with administrative personnel and transportation vendors and legibly complete required shipping paperwork; Ability to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently and 20 lbs. constantly to move product; Good corrected vision, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision; Strenuous position requires continuous stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, and grasping
