Software Engineer, Test Infrastructure & Reliability

In this role you will help building and shipping PreForm, own PreForm's quality and performance signal - make quality automated, measurable, and enforced at the PR gate.

Responsibilities

Performance regression detection: Per-PR and nightly measurement of the defined KPIs (startup, upload, print generation, crash rate) in CI, with alerting on regression; Systemtest re-architecture on the PreForm Local API: Rebuild the systemtest layer to drive end-to-end scenarios headlessly through PreForm Server, in alignment with the API team; Customer-file corpus testing: Build and own a pipeline that runs large batches of real customer models through slicing and support generation and diffs results against baselines; Crash intelligence: Own Sentry triage, trending, and root-cause attribution; build crash-reproduction harnesses so engineers fix rather than investigate; Test infrastructure stewardship: Print regression baselines, CI flake, test runtimes, golden-file management - owned as a product instead of taxing feature engineers

Requirements

C++ proficiency; Python for tooling and harnesses; CI and automation depth; Observability instinct; Seniority: mid-to-senior IC; Senior enough to define the test strategy independently; hands-on enough to build it; Real IC appetite

Nice to have

Desktop application testing experience (strong plus); Passion for 3D printing and emerging technologies; Experience in a fast-growing startup environment
