Solutions Engineer Manager (Pre-Sales)

At Fonoa, we're on a mission to automate taxes for the digital economy. As a hands-on Solutions Engineer Manager, you'll lead and scale a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers. Based in NYC, you'll partner closely with our Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams to drive technical excellence and customer outcomes throughout the pre-sales lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Lead and scale a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers; Operate as a player/coach supporting Solutions Engineers while personally partnering with Account Executives on enterprise deals; Lead and develop a US-based team of SEs to deliver world-class tax/technical guidance and pre-sales support; Shape and execute the Solutions Engineering strategy to support revenue growth and product adoption; Collaborate with Sales leadership to align SE resources with enterprise opportunities and customer segments; Develop scalable processes, methodologies, and enablement frameworks; Support high-impact customer engagements demonstrating Fonoa's platform value; Act as a cross-functional bridge with Product and Engineering teams; Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning

Requirements

7+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, or similar roles, including 4+ years in a leadership position; Experience building and scaling SE functions in B2B enterprise SaaS, ideally within fintech, tax tech, or API-driven platforms; Ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences; Empathetic leader who develops talent, builds trust, and drives results; Comfortable in high-growth, fast-paced environments; Strong communication skills, executive presence, and track record of influencing technical and commercial decisions
