Specialist, Payments Operations

As a Specialist, Payments Operations, you will help ensure money moves safely, accurately, and reliably across Justworks. You are responsible for executing critical payment workflows, but your role goes beyond following a process.

Responsibilities

Execute critical payment operations accurately and on time across payment processing, funds movement, reconciliations, exceptions, and other payment workflows; Investigate and resolve payment issues, using data, payments knowledge, and sound judgment to understand what happened, determine the right next step, and own issues through resolution; Protect our customers and Justworks by following established controls, recognizing potential risks or unusual activity, and escalating issues when appropriate; Help improve how Payments Operations works by identifying recurring problems, suggesting better ways of working, and providing feedback on processes, tools, and automation; Use and adopt new tools and ways of working, including automation and AI-enabled tools, to improve accuracy and efficiency while sharing what you learn with the team

Requirements

3+ years of experience in payments operations, banking, fintech, payroll, financial operations, or another detail-oriented operational environment; Familiarity with payment processing or money movement; Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to investigate issues, work through exceptions, and make thoughtful decisions; Comfortable working with data and learning new systems and technology, including automation and AI-enabled tools; Strong attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of accuracy and controls when working with financial transactions; Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage time-sensitive work and collaborate effectively with others

Nice to have

experience with ACH, wires, RTP, or similar payment methods is a plus
