Staff Accountant

Mapbox is the leading real-time location platform for a new generation of location-aware businesses. This role requires regular alignment with the U.S. Eastern business day and is primarily a night-shift position based in India (generally 6:30 PM–3:30 AM IST during U.S. daylight saving time and 7:30 PM–4:30 AM IST during standard time). Flexibility during quarter-end and year-end close periods is expected.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for certain key balance sheet and income statement accounts (including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and performing flux analysis); Key areas of responsibility may include cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, credit cards and intangibles; Collaborate with key cross-functional partners within the Company to support the accounting close process; Develop, implement and maintain key policies and procedures for assigned areas of responsibility; Provide support for financial statement audits and tax filings upon request; Aid in the optimization of existing platforms and the use of platforms such as NetSuite, Floqast and Navan; Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed

Requirements

1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting; NetSuite experience (required); Proficient in Microsoft Excel; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple tasks at once; Strong written communication skills; Exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skills; Highly self-motivated; Excellent time management and organizational skills; Regular alignment with the U.S. Eastern business day; Flexibility during quarter-end and year-end close periods

Nice to have

Prior experience with Floqast and Navan Expense + Travel; CPA with Big 4 Experience
