The software team is seeking a Staff SW Engineer who is technically savvy and is excited about working within a SoC development team to produce customer facing software. This position involves a wide range of challenges from interfacing with IC, firmware designers, Renesas internal cloud infrastructure team, product definition team and other stake holders. Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software that meets the needs of both customers and internal teams; Gather and drive clarity on software requirements from diverse groups including customers, application engineers, hardware, firmware and cloud infrastructure engineers; Contribute to both existing and new projects, covering a broad range of languages and scope. We use Java, Kotlin and Python.; Aid in code reviews for fellow team members, as required

Requirements

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or computer engineering; 9+ years of software development experience; Technical expertise in cloud technologies like Java, python, Kotlin, Spring; Assist in the upkeep of code quality, reusability, and continual code evaluation; Investigate and apply new technologies to enhance the user experience; Ability to design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions using creative, unconventional approaches; Strong understanding of Software Architecture and Design principles, Behavior-Driven Development and unit testing; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across teams

Nice to have

Experience with Generative and Agentic AI for software development.; Experience working with JavaScript, JavaFX or GUI development; Understanding of DevOps including JIRA, Confluence and GitLab preferred; Understanding of basic electronics, microcontroller programming and bus communication.
