Steel Erector

Permanent, full-time Steel Erector role within the AmcoGiffen in-house fabrication and installation team, based in Barnsley with national travel for site-based works. The role involves the safe and efficient installation of steel structures on sites across the UK, including bridges, structures, and mechanical assemblies. It is a hands-on, site-based role requiring national travel and occasional night or weekend work.

Responsibilities

Erecting and installing steelwork for bridges, structures, and mechanical assemblies; Working from detailed drawings and installation plans; Ensuring all site resources (labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors) are effectively coordinated; Supporting site supervision to maintain safe systems of work and high-quality installation standards; Carrying out bridge repairs, new bridge installations, and mechanical steelwork installations; Working collaboratively with fabrication teams to ensure seamless delivery from workshop to site

Requirements

Proven experience in steel erection or steel fabrication; Experience installing steelwork and steel structures on site; A recognised trade qualification in steel erection or fabrication; CSCS Site Manager / Site Supervisor card; PTS (Personal Track Safety); Experience working on railway structures; Full UK driving License
