Strategic Sourcing Commodity Manager - MRO

This role is for an experienced MRO Commodity Manager to be based at Western Digital US sites (San Jose or Fremont).

Responsibilities

Develop MRO category strategies for local operations aligned with global category management strategies, including Sustainability related sourcing initiatives; Partner with business stakeholders to identify and qualify capable suppliers; initiate and manage RFPs/RFQs; provide guidance on contract terms and conditions; Lead cross-functional teams through supplier selection processes, applying rigorous scoring criteria; Negotiate Procurement agreements, including Master Agreements, Statements of Work, and Change Orders; Analyze proposals for MRO services and equipment; Conduct total cost analysis, support ROI assessments, perform price and rate benchmarking; Provide contract management expertise for the category across business units; Evaluate stakeholder requests and validate competitive market conditions; Develop, refine, and implement category strategies and tactics for MRO services; Establish subject matter expertise on MRO services procurement; Lead cross-functional meetings and develop communication strategies for stakeholders; Manage supplier relationships with emphasis on supply risk, contract risk, and cost management; Resolve supplier issues and mediate customer-supplier contract disputes; Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive improvement initiatives; Support reporting, including supplier scorecards and performance analytics; Evaluate processes and recommend improvements to contract and sourcing lifecycle management; Ensure negotiated pricing and deliverables are accurately reflected in contracts; Manage contract execution, retention, and renewal through electronic signature processes; Provide timely updates and support quarterly management reporting

Requirements

Bachelor's/Master's degree required; 5+ years of experience in MRO services; Demonstrated skills in negotiating and formulating MRO services contracts; Understanding of cost models and various price structures; Management of contractual, IP and law and risk management; Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills; Ability to work in a high-pace dynamic environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously; Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); Subject matter expertise in sourcing & contracting tools (Oracle and other supply chain tools); Supplier Management (supplier report card) and KPI management; Solid stakeholder management in a multinational company; Communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing; Excellent team facilitation and presentation skills; Ability to present to all levels of management/stakeholders and articulate strategies and performance metrics
