Summer Camp Coach

KidStrong is a science-based kids training program designed to help parents raise strong, confident, high-character kids. The program focuses on character, physical, and brain development. KidStrong is rapidly growing and we're looking for talented, enthusiastic professionals who are passionate, energetic, and excited to engage with parents and kids and make an impact on their lives. This is a seasonal role, expected to support our camp season from June 16th to August 22nd, with the opportunity to join our team of coaches with evening and weekend availability.

Responsibilities

Camp sizes of up to 30 children, ages ranging from 4 - 11; teach the KidStrong curriculum as provided by the HQ programming team; ensure camp both starts and ends on schedule and follows the appropriate pace of the curriculum; greet students and parents/guardians as they arrive to camp; maintain a dynamic, fun, motivational, and professional demeanor when leading camp; demonstrate and manage the implementation of various exercises; keep an accurate record of attendance at all times; ensure cleanliness of the center, including the lobby, bathrooms, and blue floors - taking out trash, sweeping and mopping, wiping down equipment, and sanitizing the mat at the end of a shift; effectively use the KS Coach's App to record class data and provide records of data for parents; communicate professionally with co-workers in Slack; complete training through LearnUpon; work in a physically intensive environment, cover multiple miles in a shift, and lift/repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds; work hands-on with kids to ensure proper technique and student safety; attend additional mandatory staff meetings as required by KidStrong Director; obtain camp-certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team; supervise campers, ensure safety, and implement the program while ensuring the well-being of all children

Requirements

Passion for working with children; athletic or coaching background; positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills; self-starter who just gets a job done; comfortable speaking to parents/guardians regarding any incidents during camp; available during camp hours from 9 am - 2:30 pm; ability to work in a physically intensive environment and lift/repeatedly move equipment up to 25 pounds; comfortable working hands-on with kids; must obtain camp-certified status from the HQ Training and Certification team; complete training through LearnUpon as required by HQ Training and Certification team

Nice to have

CPR certified is a plus; prior experience coaching students within the appropriate KidStrong age is preferred; experience in summer camps or coaching kids ages 4 - 11
