Team Lead Software Engineer

We're looking for an Engineering Team Lead to lead one of our product engineering teams here at Capital on Tap. This is a people-first leadership role. You'll be responsible for the growth, wellbeing, and performance of a team of engineers, while staying technically credible enough to shape direction, remove blockers, and raise the bar on quality. You won't be the best coder in the room you'll be the person who makes the whole room better. Responsibilities

Lead one of our product engineering teams; Responsible for the growth, wellbeing, and performance of a team of engineers; Stay technically credible enough to shape direction, remove blockers, and raise the bar on quality; Hire, develop, and retain engineers; Run 1:1s; Partner with Product and QA to plan and ship reliably; Remove obstacles, manage risk, and keep the team focused; Set the tone for how the team communicates, gives feedback, and holds itself accountable; Contribute meaningfully to architecture decisions, technical debt, and build vs buy

Requirements

Managed engineers before and have a point of view on what good looks like; Know how to have hard conversations, give developmental feedback, and motivate people; Technical foundation in .NET (backend is C#/.NET Core); Product mindset, thinking about engineering in the context of business outcomes; Comfort with ambiguity and creating clarity for the team

Nice to have

Experience with Azure cloud development; Familiarity with React or other frontend frameworks; Background in financial services or fintech
