Ultrasound Technologist- Per Diem

Join the exceptional Imaging team at Advocate Condell Medical Center, a nationally recognized Level I Trauma Center located on a beautiful campus in the heart of Libertyville. As part of our Ultrasound team, you'll work in a dynamic and patient-focused environment performing a variety of studies, including General, Obstetric, and Vascular Ultrasound.

Responsibilities

Perform all ultrasound examinations according to department protocols and ACR standards; Position patient, adjust equipment, and immobilize patients to ensure optimal quality exams; Assist physicians during invasive procedures, adhering to sterile techniques, conducting timeout, and completing paperwork; Operate portable ultrasound equipment for portable procedures; Document pertinent history for each procedure; Communicate STAT reports to physician offices, nursing units, and Emergency Department; Correlate current exam data with prior exams; Maintain CPR certification; Comply with OSHA standards for infection control; Provide technical support for smooth and efficient operation of Ultrasound Department; Provide instruction and orientation to students and technologists; Participate in problem-solving issues addressing patients, department operations, quality assurance, interdepartmental relationships, and employee morale

Requirements

Graduate of AMA approved School of Ultrasound; At least 1 year hospital experience; Possess high degree of technical knowledge to perform ultrasound studies; Able to make diagnostic judgments when scanning and present them to Radiologist; Registry eligible; CPR Certification within 30 days of hire; New hire must be ARDMS certified within 1 year of graduation, current Advocate associates within 6 months; Must be able to take call on rotation basis; Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimal notice; Ability to work holidays and weekends; Ability to operate portable equipment; Requires good judgment, reliability, responsibility, independent thought and action; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints; Must be conscientious in practicing high-quality patient care; Must have good oral and written communication skills; Ability to lift and move patients, heavy lifting 50-100 pounds occasionally, 25-50 pounds frequently, 10-20 pounds constantly; Must recognize needs and behaviors of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and older adult patients
