Unanet Accounting Consultant

Manage and support clients' accounting operations and Unanet ERP environments, helping organizations improve financial reporting, streamline processes, and maintain compliance. This is a client-facing consulting role that combines technical accounting expertise with financial systems knowledge, offering the opportunity to work across multiple organizations and industries.

Responsibilities

Manage and support client accounting operations within the Unanet ERP platform; Prepare and review journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and support month-end and year-end close activities; Produce accurate financial statements, management reports, and other key financial deliverables; Configure, maintain, and optimize Unanet accounting and project accounting systems; Analyze financial data and troubleshoot accounting and system-related issues; Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency; Train and support client teams on Unanet functionality, accounting processes, and best practices; Collaborate with client finance and operations teams to ensure accounting workflows align with business objectives and compliance requirements; Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining exceptional service and communication

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; 3–15 years of progressive accounting experience; Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end close, and financial reporting; Experience managing accounting responsibilities across multiple entities or client engagements; Hands-on experience with Unanet ERP; Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and account reconciliations; Excellent communication skills with a strong client-service mindset; Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail

Nice to have

Unanet implementation or certification experience; Experience in outsourced accounting, public accounting, or consulting environments; Familiarity with government contracting accounting, indirect rates, and DCAA compliance; Experience supporting project-based organizations or professional services firms
