Activities Assistant-Non CNA

Solaris HealthCare Coconut Creek is now hiring. We are looking for caring individuals to provide outstanding care to our residents each and every day. The primary purpose of your job position is to support the efforts of the Activities Director in the assessing, selecting, organizing, and implementing of recreational services to address the individualized needs and interests of the overall resident/patient population within the center, in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and Solaris HealthCare’s established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assists in the development and delivery of therapeutic recreational services; Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident; Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities; Assists in completing activity documentation; Assists Activity Director in organization and supervision of volunteer program; Assists with Resident Council Meetings; Assists in planning community activities; Assists in completion of monthly calendar of available recreational services; Supports each resident's right to self determination; Assists in development of Center Newsletter; Implements activity programs in absence of Activities Director; Coordinates activities of Welcoming Committee; Charts individual resident's attendance and participation in recreational pursuits

Requirements

Activity Professional Certification; Ability to read and write; Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening

Nice to have

High School Diploma with course work in recreation; Completion of a state approved activity-training course; Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings
