Actuarial Analyst

An innovative and market leading reinsurance company is recruiting for an analyst to join its actuarial function across all business lines. The role will provide a rare opportunity for the successful candidate to be involved in key decisions across the whole business, including those outside the traditional actuarial sphere, and to gain exposure to highly regarded professionals in the reinsurance and asset management arenas.

Responsibilities

Supporting the pricing and underwriting teams with individual risk pricing and underwriting of reinsurance contracts; Continually refining pricing tools and processes; Supporting the reserving team with the reserving process, including data preparation, reserve analysis and projections, benchmarking, and preparation of results for presentation at the Reserving Committee; Supporting the capital team with Igloo modelling, including streamlining data flows, investigating data discrepancies, and interpreting results

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar; Progressing towards qualification with a globally recognized actuarial organization such as the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society; 2+ years of actuarial experience; Familiarity with Python, SQL and other programming languages, including those used in actuarial software; Team oriented, collaborative approach to problem solving; Enthusiasm to develop knowledge and expertise in a wide range of fields
