Acute Inpatient Registered Nurse - RN - Dialysis

Inpatient RNs at Fresenius Medical Care perform dialysis treatments on an acute patient population in a hospital setting, including ICU, ER, Rehab, and Med/Surg units. What makes this role truly unique is the level of autonomy you’ll enjoy. Inpatient nurses are specifically accountable for administering and assessing each patient’s treatment plan. And because dialysis is a critical treatment for many hospital procedures and health conditions, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients. Ideal candidates possess leadership skills and independence needed to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment. Must be capable of educating patients and providing exceptional customer service to our partners. Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience are also required.

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data pre-during-post treatment and document in patient medical record; Assess, collaborate and document patient/family learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education; Direct and provide safe effective patient care for assigned patients for all modality specific treatment procedures; Administer medications as prescribed and document medical justification and effectiveness; Initiate and assist with emergency response measures; Serve as resource, leader, coach, mentor and role model for new and incumbent employees; May be assigned to assist in an Outpatient facility on an as needed basis; Perform all other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements

Current appropriate state licensure; Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification; Must meet practice requirements in all states employed; Minimum 2 years or more of nephrology nursing experience in the last 2 years as an RN; Six months to one year of dialysis experience or some form of critical care nursing experience; Leadership skills and independence to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment; Capability to educate patients and provide exceptional customer service to partners; Must take Ishihara Color Blindness test as condition of employment (failure does not preclude employment, reasonable accommodation considered)
