Ambulatory Tech 1

Under general direction from Nurse Leader, Nurse Manager or designee assists providers during exams. Performs a variety of clinical tasks in support of patient care in out-patient clinics including a variety of technical, procedural and information systems tasks involving patient care functions affecting the comfort, care and safety of patients.

Responsibilities

Assists providers during exams; Attaches patients to diagnostic and medical equipment; Provides information, comfort and care to patients; Ensures supplies and equipment are available; Escorts patients from waiting area to exam areas and obtains vital signs; Performs diagnostic testing and specimen collection; Enters patient data into electronic medical record system; Maintains clinical equipment and supply levels; Implements infection prevention measures; Precepts new Ambulatory Technologists; Performs administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent plus one year of experience in customer focused/service setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to have

Associates degree preferred; Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and computer experience is preferred
