Ambulatory Tech 2

Under general direction from Nursing Leadership, assists providers during exams. Performs a variety of clinical tasks in support of patient care in out-patient clinics including a variety of technical, procedural and information systems tasks involving patient care functions affecting the comfort, care and safety of patients.

Responsibilities

Assists providers during exams; Performs a variety of clinical tasks in support of patient care in out-patient clinics; Attaches patients to diagnostic and medical equipment; Obtains vital signs; Performs diagnostic testing and specimen collection; Enters patient data, condition and care into electronic medical record system; Maintains clinical equipment and medical supply levels; Implements standard infection prevention measures; Precepts new Ambulatory Technologists with RN oversight; May assist providers with patient processes as a surgical procedure assistant; Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience in customer focused/service setting; Minimum of 6 months of progressively responsible professional work experience in the ambulatory clinic setting; Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to have

Associate's degree; Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and computer experience
