Apprentice High Voltage Electrician | Dawson

Dawson Mine is seeking motivated and safety-focused individuals to join our team as Apprentice High Voltage Electrician. This is an exciting opportunity for Moura and Banana Shire residents to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience maintaining and repairing some of the largest and most advanced mining equipment in Australia.

During this 4-year apprenticeship, you’ll be working alongside experienced tradespeople, you will complete a nationally recognised qualification while developing the skills needed for a rewarding career in the mining industry.

Responsibilities

Assist with the maintenance and repair of high voltage electrical equipment and systems.; Support fault finding and troubleshooting activities.; Participate in planned and breakdown maintenance activities.; Learn and apply safe work practices and procedures.; Complete all apprenticeship training requirements and assessments.; Maintain accurate records and documentation.; Contribute to a positive safety culture and team environment.

Requirements

Successful completion of Year 12 (or equivalent); Sound achievement in Mathematics and English; Genuine interest in pursuing a career as an Electrical Tradesperson specialising in High Voltage systems; Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices; Ability to work effectively in a team environment; Good communication and problem-solving skills; Current Australian driver's licence (or ability to obtain during the apprenticeship)

Nice to have

Certificate II in Electrotechnology (UEE22020) or equivalent pre-apprenticeship qualification; Previous exposure to electrical, mining, industrial, or construction environments; Current First Aid and CPR certification; Working at Heights or Confined Space training; Demonstrated mechanical or technical aptitude through employment, study, hobbies, or extracurricular activities
