Assistant Controller

Our client is an investment firm that focuses on opportunities in real estate and asset-heavy industries. It targets areas with strong growth potential and in special situations with over $2 billion in AUM. The Assistant Controller will help manage the accounting, valuation, and financial reporting function for the firm.

Responsibilities

Review books and records and supporting documentation for fund financial reporting; Review and approve waterfall, management fee, and expense calculations; Review investor capital calls, distributions, and related activities; Assist with fund-level communications including annual reports, K-1s, and tax forms; Assist with the quarterly valuation process including reviewing and analyzing portfolio company data for the fund’s quarterly valuation reporting of the investment holdings; Develop firmwide analytics and forecasting models to drive decisions; Complete annual audits and tax filings

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; 5-7 years of both public and private accounting experience; Experience with private equity investment funds; Strong Excel skills; CPA required
