Backend Software Engineer

This role is based in Palo Alto, California, and follows a hybrid work model. Endor Labs is building the Application Security platform for the software development revolution. Modern software is complex and dependency-rich, making it increasingly difficult to pinpoint the risks that truly matter. Endor Labs solves this challenge by building a call graph of your entire software estate—enabling teams to clearly identify, prioritize, and fix critical risks faster.

Responsibilities

Join our cutting-edge backend team working on a state-of-the-art distributed system with a sophisticated monorepo architecture; own core product functionality at the heart of Endor’s AppSec platform, designing and delivering features that secure source code end to end from IDE to deployment; be at the forefront of securing customer code with AI code security solutions; drive development and optimization of vital core services like API Gateway and API servers; maintain diverse scan environments by supporting the ever-growing build and tool chain requirements; innovate with autonomy to design and build top-tier tools used across all teams; champion observability by applying best practices to ensure exceptional reliability and availability

Requirements

Bachelor’s in engineering and 3-5 years of experience; ~3 years of experience in Golang programming with a deep focus on microservices and distributed architecture; familiarity with build tools and tool chains like Maven, pip, npm; experience with scalable distributed systems including microservices, domain-driven design, load balancing, and scaling strategies; ability to discuss architectural trade-offs and guide teams towards effective solutions; thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting requirements; leverage AI and automated code generation tools to accelerate delivery of robust, security-hardened, and production-grade software

Nice to have

Expertise in secure software design principles, including managing certificates, OAuth2/OIDC, and implementing secure changes; hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda functions, or other cutting-edge cloud-native technologies; knowledge of security, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection
