Bistro Server - Reserve

Reserve: a position working up to 20 hours per week (between 40-999 hours per year). The Server is responsible for coordinating entire table service for guests and communicating with front and back of house personnel to provide a world class dining experience that exceeds guest expectations. Servers will deliver gracious hospitality and ensure all guests receive friendly, courteous and prompt service at all times following prescribed and established Biltmore service standards.

Responsibilities

Coordinate entire table service for guests; Communicate with front and back of house personnel; Deliver gracious hospitality and friendly, courteous and prompt service; Process guest orders to ensure items are prepared properly and on time; Present, open, and pour wine; Observe diners and respond to additional requests; Total bills and accept payment or refer guests to supervisors; Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu and beverages; Up-sell menu items and beverages; Work on the P.O.S. system per guidelines; Maintain required uniform; Ensure cutlery, china and glassware are spotless; May assist bus person with stocking, removing and resetting dishes and tables; Complete all side duties before end of shift; Maintain a clean working environment with sanitation, health and safety standards

Requirements

High school diploma; Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant; Demonstrated commitment to delivering world class guest service; Excellent guest relation and communications skills; Outstanding interpersonal skills; Terrific attention to detail; Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced guest service environment; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; Ability to be proactive, exercise good judgment, and take initiative; Ability to be professional in appearance and demeanor in accordance with Biltmore standards; Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; Lift, carry, push and pull 25–50 pounds; Lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray above shoulder level; Requires walking or standing to a significant degree; Schedule various shifts 9am to 12:00am; Weekend availability required; Must be able to work nights, weekends and potentially holidays

Nice to have

At least six (6) months of related restaurant experience in a fine dining/upscale setting; Experience preferably in a multi-unit resort; Excellent guest relation and communications skills; Ability to present, open, and pour wine when serving guests
