Building Engineer

The incumbent is responsible for performing and coordinating building repairs, maintenance, and system oversight while delivering exceptional service to tenants and contributing to the ongoing functionality and appeal of our buildings. This position will champion the JLL Culture of Communication, Collaboration, and Trust while performing the duties outlined below.

Responsibilities

Perform and coordinate building repairs and maintenance; Oversee building system operations; Deliver excellent tenant service; Address building climate concerns, lighting requests, and minor plumbing issues; Perform emergency snow and ice removal; Conduct site garbage tours and pick-up; Operate automation systems, including HVAC and security; Coordinate tenant requests; Oversee contractor activities during regular and after hours; Supervise scheduled maintenance contracts, including interior and exterior maintenance, HVAC systems, life safety systems, and cleaning services; Participate in the HSSE program, including hazard assessments and safe work procedures; Support energy management review and cost savings initiatives; Assist with supervision of tenant buildouts, construction, and capital projects, acting as liaison to ensure procedures, timelines, and quality control; Ensure environmental and safety procedures comply with government regulations

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property operations; Applied working knowledge of building automation systems for mechanical, operations, maintenance, security, and HVAC; Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on abilities; Above-average understanding of building components; Availability for on-call 24-hour rotation as assigned; Basic computer knowledge including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe applications; Basic working knowledge of blueprints and construction drawings; Ability to communicate and relate effectively with a variety of people, including tenants, senior staff, property management, and mechanical and service personnel; Valid Class 5 driver's license; Access to a personal vehicle (mileage provided)

Nice to have

Experience in medical office or healthcare facilities; Experience with Building Engines/Prism; 5th Class Power Engineer Certification
