Computer Field Technician

This is a Computer Field Technician Position doing hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units. To be successful in this position, you must have prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware. This is a 1099/per call position. Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed. Calls start at $35 and go up based on distance traveled. Pay period: every Friday after the first week worked. Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Call volume is variable but is usually 1-3 calls per week in this territory. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial).

Responsibilities

Perform on-site hardware repairs and installations on laptop and desktop units; Confirm service times with customers in the tech portal; Code calls and map out daily route in the tech portal; Pick up parts daily from the assigned FedEx or UPS store before going onsite; Drop off old parts with the pre-paid label after completing calls

Requirements

Prior experience with laptop and desktop hardware; Prior hands-on experience replacing components on laptops and desktops; Valid driver's license; Reliable form of transportation; Comfortable with daily local travel; Access to a computer and the Internet; Available to log into tech portal by 9 am each morning worked; Regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays
