CT Technologist PRN - Atrium Health Lincoln

CT Technologist I perform procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. Operates CT Scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency. This equipment includes scanner, post processing stations/programs, IV contrast injectors, O2 and suction equipment, patient transport and patient monitoring equipment.

Responsibilities

Examines requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient; Properly identifies and assists patients while offering a brief explanation of procedures; Interviews patients for a complete medical history; Prepares and administers IV contrast according to departmental protocols; Evaluates technical quality of images and consults with a Radiologist if needed; Performs basic patient care functions; Performs CT scanning and assists Radiologist/PA during invasive procedures; Practices radiation safety standards; Reports malfunctioning equipment; Adheres to hospital fire and safety procedures; Performs work accurately in emergency situations; Operates radiology computer system; Maintains assigned work area; Assists other medical personnel.

Requirements

Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology; ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB for Nuclear Medicine and advanced registry from the ARRT in CT within one year of hire required; BLS required; Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development; Demonstrates skills and competency appropriate to ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of patient population served.
