Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary manufacturing production facility. This role supports daily plant operations by performing routine and specialized cleaning tasks across production floors, break rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas. The Custodian works in a fast-paced industrial environment and must follow all safety protocols, including OSHA regulations and company-specific guidelines.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary manufacturing production facility; Supporting daily plant operations by performing routine and specialized cleaning tasks across production floors, break rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas; Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and sanitizing production floors, hallways, and common areas; Cleaning and disinfecting restrooms, common areas, break rooms, and office spaces daily; Removing trash, recyclables, and manufacturing waste from designated collection points and transporting to disposal/dumpster areas; Cleaning and maintaining industrial equipment exteriors, conveyor areas, and non-operational machine surfaces; Replenishing supplies in restrooms, break rooms, and hand-washing stations; Operating industrial floor scrubbers, sweepers, pressure washers, and other custodial equipment; Monitoring and reporting facility maintenance needs, safety hazards, or equipment issues; Assisting with spill cleanup and emergency sanitation response; Cleaning loading docks, exterior entryways, and parking lot areas; Properly labeling, storing, and handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA and SDS guidelines; Performing deep-cleaning tasks on a rotating schedule; Completing daily cleaning logs and inspection checklists accurately; Performing other duties as assigned

Requirements

Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions, including safety signage; Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, dilution ratios, and safe handling procedures; Must be able to work independently and as part of a team; Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential; Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen; Stand and walk for up to 12 hours, with frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching; Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds; Perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced production environment

Nice to have

Prior custodial, janitorial, or industrial cleaning experience; High school diploma or GED
