Data Integrity Specialist

The Data Integrity Specialist is responsible for maintaining the data integrity of the facility and enterprise Master Patient Index across all entities of the Health System. The individual provides resolution of urgent MPI overlay errors impacting patient care and participates in on-call coverage for the MPI team on a rotation basis. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On-Call Rotation: Required 24/7 on-call coverage for one week every 4 to 6 weeks as part of a rotating team schedule.

Responsibilities

Maintain the data integrity of the facility and enterprise electronic medical record and Master Patient Index across all entities of the Health System; Provide resolution of urgent MPI or electronic medical record issues or overlay errors impacting patient care; Perform investigation and resolution of non-emergent issues concerning potential medical record electronic errors using daily reports and task queues; Understand legacy master electronic medical record as well as the enterprise MPI and the impact on downstream systems; Coordinate and communicate with clinicians, registration, billing, information technology staff and others to facilitate electronic medical record issue resolution and communicate outcomes; Participate in on-call coverage for the MPI team on a rotation basis

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED; 3-4 years related experience inclusive of working in a health care setting; Working knowledge of electronic medical record and MPI functionality; Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and organizational skills; Ability to collaborate professionally with other departments and medical personnel; Ability to be technically oriented with strong analytic and problem-solving skills; Ability to search databases and use critical thinking to discern correct patient clinical and demographic information in accordance with established procedures

Nice to have

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in related field; RHIA or RHIT certification preferred
