Dental Assistant-1

Under general direction, assists and anticipates the needs of Dentists and other providers in the provision of patient care. Assists in the coordination and operation of the Clinic or Dental Operating Room setting. Performs advanced dental functions under New York State licensure.

Responsibilities

Assists and anticipates needs of Dentists and other providers in patient care; Assists in coordination and operation of Clinic or Dental Operating Room setting; Performs advanced dental functions under New York State licensure; Provides chair side or operating room assistance; Maintains sterile environment and aseptic technique; Maintains inventory of clinic equipment, instruments, forms, and supplies; Takes intra-oral, extra-oral, panorex radiographs; Performs instrument sterilization; Collects and enters data for quality assurance; Supports research activities and new hire training

Requirements

High School diploma or High School student in good academic standing; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice to have

1 year experience as a Dental Assistant or in an Operating Room environment; Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and computer experience
