Designer (Freelance)

Join Hovercraft to create high-profile, culturally influential work for leading brands. Projects include visual systems, campaigns, story-driven environments, immersive digital installations, and browser-based experiences. The role requires originating bold concepts while working within brand systems. Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team and work independently with confidence. Skills in illustration, animation, or spatial design are a plus.

Responsibilities

Take ideas from concept through final handoff alongside creatives, technologists, producers, and leadership; Develop original design directions and refine work within established brand guidelines and visual centers; Combine conceptual thinking with strong craft and attention to detail while being responsible for the completeness of your work; Adapt to different brand styles and visual directions, spotting opportunities for unexpected interactive, environmental, or animation outputs; Find outside inspiration, and bring new thinking and ideas into the studio.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in a similar role; Proficiency in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Cloud; Strong portfolio showing solid fundamentals, attention to detail, inventive design thinking and high-level execution in brand experience work; A collaborative team player that is highly motivated, pro-active and positive; Excellent organization and time management skills to meet deadlines across multiple projects in a remote work setting; Eligible to work in the US as a 1099 contractor
