DSP HIRING EVENT - Manhattan (ICF)

AHRC NYC is holding a hiring event for Full & Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for its Manhattan ICF residence. Pay rate is $20.60-$20.96 per hour depending on driving status. The event takes place Thursday, October 8th from 10AM-1PM; the recruiter will provide the event-specific address to qualified candidates. Positions: 40hr evening shift (2pm-10pm, driver's license required) and 30hr weekend overnight shift (10pm-8am, Friday night to Sunday night, driver's license not required). The role focuses on building meaningful relationships and supporting community inclusion for neurodivergent children and adults. AHRC New York City is a nonprofit organization supporting people with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and other disabilities.

Responsibilities

The oversight of all safety and health considerations; Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies; Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs); Other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.

Requirements

Personal or professional experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred; Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills; Patience is a must; Willingness to support people's preferences for community, activities, work, leisure activities, the exercise of their rights, etc. in various settings; Ability to use a computer for data entry; High school education/GED highly preferred; Driver's license required for the 40hr evening shift; Weekend availability required for most positions
