We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Deployment Engineering team in EMEA. This isn't a typical management role — we need someone who leads from the front, gets their hands dirty, and drives impact. You'll manage a team of Forward Deployed Engineers who are on the front lines of deploying Cohere's North platform into customer environments. You should be ready to be a force to be reckoned with.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of Forward Deployed Engineers across EMEA; Drive end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-premises environments; Take ownership of customer success from technical implementation through delivery; Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Sales to shape how we deliver AI to enterprises; Mentor your team on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and enterprise-grade deployments; Optimize performance for OpenSearch, databases, and other K8s services; Define scaling guidelines for GPU and CPU compute resources; Build processes & technology that scales — we're growing fast.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated leadership; Hands-on experience deploying enterprise software at scale; Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, GCP); Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines; High agency — you don't wait for permission to solve problems; A doer mentality — you dig in and get stuff done; Experience managing engineers in a fast-paced, high-growth environment; Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice to have

Fluency in additional European languages; Experience with AI/ML infrastructure; Background in enterprise security and compliance.

Benefits

Remote-flexible work from anywhere in EMEA; 6 weeks of paid vacation; Equity/stock options; Competitive salary; Co-working stipend; Annual learning allowance ($2,000); Weekly lunch stipend of $75/£75 or equivalent; Full health and dental benefits, including separate budget for mental health; RRSP matching, 401K, Pension Scheme; 100% Parental Leave top-up for up to 6 months for either parent; Annual enrichment benefits including arts & culture, fitness/wellness, quality time, workspace improvement credit, and education & learning stipend; Budget for traveling to other offices if remote, plus annual company offsite; $500 home office stipend.
