Engineering Manager

You’ll lead a team building core product and platform capabilities for over 100 million creators — shaping system design, driving execution, and partnering with product, design, and data science to deliver experiences people actually love. This is a hands-on leadership role: you’ll set technical direction, grow your team, and keep things moving in a fast-paced, music-obsessed environment.

Responsibilities

Own the technical direction for your team’s domain, driving architecture decisions and ensuring scalable, high-quality systems that serve millions of creators; Build, coach, and grow a team of engineers — hiring strong talent, running effective performance cycles, and creating a culture where people do their best work; Partner with product management, design, and data science to define roadmaps, scope projects, and ship features that move the needle; Navigate the full development lifecycle from ideation through launch, managing tradeoffs and removing blockers so your team stays focused and shipping; Champion engineering craft across your team — code quality, robust testing, and the right balance of rapid iteration with long-term maintainability; Contribute to Suno’s mission of making creative fulfillment a daily reality for everyone by delivering the tools and platform that turn imagination into music

Requirements

5–7 years managing a software engineering team, with a track record of shipping impactful consumer products; Strong technical foundation — you can review code, guide architectural decisions, and jump into the codebase when needed; Experience translating ambiguous problems into clear plans and shipped features alongside product, design, and data science partners; A demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain strong engineers — you care deeply about growing people’s careers; Hands-on experience building and operating systems at scale in a production environment; Comfort thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments while keeping your team focused across multiple priorities; Forward-looking perspective on integrating AI and agentic coding into production engineering workflows; A love of music (listening, exploring, making — we’re not picky about genre); Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S

Nice to have

Experience at a consumer tech or creator-platform company; Time spent at both larger organizations and smaller, high-growth startups; Familiarity with AI/ML-powered product development; Working knowledge of Python, TypeScript, consumer media systems, or real-time systems
