Enterprise Internship for High School Students, Concord NC

Advocate Health's 7-week Summer Internship Program for high school students aged 16+. The role is assigned to Pharmacy and is on-site, working up to 24 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Internship dates are 6/14/2027-7/30/2027. The program offers meaningful work aligned with students' interests, opportunities to connect with fellow interns and colleagues, and exposure to the day-to-day work of an Advocate Health teammate. Location: Atrium Health Cabarrus, 920 Church St N, Concord, NC.

Responsibilities

Participate in a structured, hands-on learning experience introducing high school students to healthcare careers; Rotate through or support a variety of hospital departments (clinical, administrative, operational, and support functions); Participate in educational activities, observational experiences, and assigned projects; Develop foundational workplace and professional skills under the guidance of hospital team members; Attend professional development and social networking events throughout the summer

Requirements

Currently enrolled in high school; Aged 16+ years or older before the start of the internship; Must have a demonstrated interest in exploring health care careers; Computer skills required; Ability to walk, sit, lift and reach overhead; Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds at shoulder height; Must be able to push patients in wheelchairs or supplies on a rolling cart; Intact sense of sight and hearing; Work in a safe manner
