Entry-Level Geotechnical Driller

As a Geotechnical Driller, you will be responsible for providing assistance to and working with drilling staff, senior technicians, surveyors, and construction managers. The Assistant Driller plays a vital role in collecting information in the field and capturing subsurface materials to better serve our clients for accurate geotechnical analyses. This is an entry level position, which will require a significant amount of travel and working year-round in all types of terrain and weather conditions. On the job training is provided for this niche position and there is opportunity for advancement as geotechnical drilling skills are mastered.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance to and work with drilling staff, senior technicians, surveyors, and construction managers; Collect information in the field and capture subsurface materials for accurate geotechnical analyses; Assist drilling staff to perform inspection assignments under direct supervision; Prepare daily reports and keep accurate records of drilling activities according to pre-established guidelines; Assist in setting up and monitoring the safety of drilling operations; Work in all types of terrain and weather conditions

Requirements

Strong communication skills; Ability to contribute and work well on a team; Must have high school diploma; Ability to lift minimum 50 lbs; Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record; Ability to obtain and maintain railroad and safety certifications; Ability to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and obtain a commercial driving license (CDL); Has a willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel frequently; The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
