Field Application Engineer

As a Field Application Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering Boston Dynamics' robotic solutions to our customers, ensuring their seamless integration and operational success. Boston Dynamics is a world leader in mobile robots, tackling some of the toughest robotics challenges. Now, we are quickly becoming a recognized leader in automation solutions for industrial applications and warehouse logistics.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with customers to align system capabilities with their operational needs; Design site-specific solutions; Travel up to 50% to customer sites; Oversee site-level solution architecture and commissioning of Boston Dynamics robotic systems; Implement scalable solutions for individual integrations and customer account growth; Manage network infrastructure and configuration for system connectivity; Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues through advanced troubleshooting; Provide customer training and support; Lead technical projects that enhance integration efficiency and standardize processes; Support early-stage testing and integration of new Boston Dynamics products; Gather, systematize, and convey customer feedback to internal teams; Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulations; Develop SOWs and customer success documentation; Execute customer integrations, validation procedures, and field tests; Perform field diagnosis, field repairs of FRU sub-assemblies, and issue triage; Conduct inspections and checkouts of new hardware and RMAs; Perform software checkouts before customer integrations; Assist in creating and updating Customer Solution Documents, Interface Control Documents, and Integration Scoping Documents; Deliver foundational training on Boston Dynamics products to customers and partners

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, System Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field; Experience in Field Applications Engineering, Solution Architecture, System Design, or similar; Experience working with customers directly, delivering technical solutions; Ability to plan and execute integrations of Boston Dynamics products at customer sites; Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time

Nice to have

Familiarity with AutoCAD or comparable software applications; Familiarity with networking protocols and devices (routers, switches, and firewalls); Familiarity with Linux operating systems (Ubuntu); Familiarity with Python, C++, Typescript, Kotlin, or other modern programming languages
