Field Service Technician

MI Conveyance Solutions Field Service Technicians provide the highest levels of mechanical service to meet the needs of our customers. Whether repairing and installing conveyor belts or repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment, we cater to the needs of our customers to keep their industry in motion.

Responsibilities

Performs on-site belt installation, splicing, and preventative maintenance; Fabricates lightweight and/or heavyweight belts in shop; Performs rigging to facilitate lifting of belt rolls, presses and tooling; Performs basic millwright tasks such as torch heating and cutting, and removal/installation of conveyor components; Serves as customer contact on technical and service-related issues; Diagnoses problems with equipment, assesses the extent of the problem, documents findings, and makes repair/replacement decisions; Keeps customers informed on the nature of service provided or outstanding issues and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, or repairs; Provides technical support and training to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment; Performs on-site services for new and existing clients including emergency repairs, equipment servicing and equipment upgrades on a 24/7 on-call basis; Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Technical degree and zero (0) to three (3) years of related experience or equivalent combination; Ability to read measuring equipment and perform basic math calculations; Ability to operate shop equipment safely; Ability to operate (or be trained to operate) manlifts, forklifts, hand power tools and shop equipment safely; Excellent communication skills; Work effectively with customers, peers and management to resolve client issues; Willingness and ability to drive company vehicles in alignment with Company policy required within one year of start date; Alignment with company drug free workplace and other required customer regulatory requirements; Ability to push/pull up to 100 pounds; Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds; Ability to lift bulky objects; Physical ability to perform neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, reach and lift, ladder climb and carrying/crawling; Ability to work at heights from manlifts, platforms and elevated walkways; Willingness to wear safety equipment and safety harness; Comfort with indoor/outdoor working conditions and occasional loud noise
