Finance and Operations Specialist

Blissway Inc. Denver, United States
Full-time Hybrid work

Publication date: 04/11/2026

Blissway is a startup that simplifies toll collection and dramatically improves highway safety. We work for toll authorities and state DOTs, and we own the whole system, from the roadside camera to the final bill. You'll report directly to our founder and CEO and take as much off his plate as you can handle, including owning Blissway's finance and operations: the numbers, the workflows, and the systems we'll scale on. Your scope will grow as you do.

Responsibilities

Run finance: lead monthly reporting to the founders, including budget vs. actuals and a cash forecast; own the monthly close and work with the outside CPA firm on tax and year-end; Run operations: negotiate vendor and service agreements, manage leases, decide when a contract needs outside counsel, and find and fix whatever slows the team down; Run billing and payments: customer invoicing including milestone billing for public agencies, collections, vendor payments, payroll, and benefits; Report directly to the founder and CEO and own Blissway's finance and operations: the numbers, the workflows, and the systems the company will scale on

Requirements

Drive and extreme ownership: find out why numbers don't tie out, build missing processes, and focus on outcomes; Think clearly: spot problems on a P&L or aging report and explain what to fix first; Communicate clearly in writing and in person; Proactively spot and flag gaps such as lapsing insurance, under-billed contracts, upcoming filings, and cash crunches, with a recommendation; Treat finance and operations as a system: automate repeatable work, document the rest, and set up controls; Detail obsessed: keep payments, invoices, filings, and renewals on track with backup for every number and deadlines on a calendar; Learn fast and pick up new systems without needing to be shown twice; Technical foundations: comfortable with automations, integrations, and AI tools, and curious about how the products work and make money; Willing to work in person at the Denver office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Nice to have

Experience with public agency or government contracts (milestone invoicing, required backup documentation, long payment cycles); A CPA or progress toward one
