Food Services Assistant

Full-time position in Food and Nutrition Services: Cafeteria at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, 36 hours per week, primarily 8:30am to 5:30pm. Benefits eligible.

Responsibilities

Monitors quality of product at stations, ensures recipe compliance, and adherence to departmental guidelines; Ensures that productivity, delivery, and serving line start time schedules are met; Minimizes product waste and controls cost, following portion control guidelines and managing food and supplies; Oversees that equipment and supplies are properly utilized, maintained, and handled to avoid breakage; Performs utility and dish room functions efficiently and properly cleans items for use in the department; Contributes to positive patient and customer satisfaction; Maintains a 97% or better sanitation rating from the Health Department by following sanitation policies and completing daily/weekly cleaning assignments; Follows all workplace safety and sanitation rules and regulations; Completes required in-service, job-specific, Compliance, HIPAA, and TJC/OSHA training; Participates in department performance improvement initiatives; Provides support to other Food and Nutrition Services departments as requested by management; Delivers, serves, and retrieves food trays safely, efficiently, sanitarily, and courteously; Follows fire code and regulatory standards; Interacts with patients, visitors, and staff, resolving issues or concerns as needed; Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures

Requirements

High school enrollment, diploma, or GED equivalent; Must be literate in English and able to follow instructions; Ability to adjust to the needs of the department; Desire to achieve high customer service standards; Must be comfortable entering patient rooms and interacting with them; Ability to work weekends and holidays; Ability to communicate with a wide variety of people including patients, visitors, employees, nursing staff, managers, and hospital staff; Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. maximum, 50 lbs. maximum, and 100 lbs. maximum
