Responsibilities

Working alongside the Police in custody suites caring for detainees; Providing individuals with physical, mental healthcare and wellbeing needs while detained; Gathering forensic samples needed by the police to aid investigations; Making careful records on computerised systems; Assessing whether people are fit to be detained or released; Administering medications when needed; Working with local Liaison and Diversion teams to address root cause issues that can prevent future crime

Requirements

Registered (Adult) Nurse / RGN (or RMN with dual registration) with 2 years post qualification - Band 5 minimum; Paramedic with 2 years post qualification; Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a patient-facing role in a relevant field (General Practice, A&E, Emergency Medicine, acute medicine, Walk in Centres, Substance Misuse Services, Prison Healthcare or Ambulance Service); HCPC/NMC registration (required); Driving Licence (required); Must be a UK resident for 3 years+ with no gaps out of country more than 3 months; Subject to Police Vetting; Flexible to work across assigned region in Police Custody Suites and Force area
