General Ledger Accountant (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

Independently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including notes to the financial statements and management reports, in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and IFRS; Take responsibility for the complete, timely, and high-quality execution of all closing activities, including the coordination of the required reconciliation and support processes; Ensure the correct accounting treatment, valuation, and documentation of business transactions in compliance with applicable accounting standards; Advise and support operational departments and controlling functions on accounting and financial reporting matters; Analyze balance sheet and profit-and-loss statement positions and prepare financial evaluations, closing analyses, and reports for management and relevant stakeholders; Coordinate collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, particularly external auditors and statutory auditors; Actively contribute to the development and optimization of accounting, closing, and reporting processes, for example in the context of reorganizations, system changes, or updates to accounting policies; Take on special projects and additional tasks beyond the immediate area of responsibility

Requirements

Degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, or a comparable qualification; Professional experience in accounting with a focus on the preparation of financial statements; Sound knowledge of accounting under German GAAP (HGB), ideally complemented by IFRS knowledge; Excellent command of both German and English, written and spoken; Independent, structured, and meticulous working style; Motivation to take ownership and actively drive improvements; Flexibility regarding working hours during monthly, quarterly, and annual closing periods, as well as a willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics

Nice to have

Additional qualification as a Certified Management Accountant / Certified Accountant (IHK Bilanzbuchhalter) is an advantage; IFRS knowledge
