Head of Logistics and Transport

Airbus Aerosystems Kinston is looking for a Head of Logistics and Transport to join our Supply Chain department based in Kinston, NC. The person in this role will lead the teams responsible for internal logistics and warehousing, general transport and oversized cargo as well as all suppliers supporting the logistics and transport operations. The Head of Logistics and Transport at Airbus Aerosystem Kinston is a senior leadership role responsible for managing the end-to-end logistics and transportation operations that support aircraft manufacturing and delivery. The position ensures that materials, components, and finished products move efficiently through the global supply chain.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement global and local logistics and transportation strategies; Optimize inbound and outbound logistics flows; Ensure cost efficiency while maintaining reliability and safety; Oversee multimodal transportation including air, sea, road, and specialized aircraft transport; Coordinate movement of large aircraft parts; Manage transport networks between Airbus sites; Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery; Lead large international logistics teams; Manage logistics managers, transport planners, and warehouse teams; Digitalize plant logistics flows; Monitor logistics KPIs; Identify efficiency improvements; Ensure compliance with aviation, customs, and international regulations; Manage logistics risk including delays, disruptions, and capacity shortages

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Engineering or Business Administration; 15+ years in logistics, supply chain, or transport management; Experience in aerospace, automotive, or complex manufacturing environments; Proven leadership experience managing large global teams; Experience in lean manufacturing; Strategic logistics planning; Global supply chain management; Transport network optimization; Stakeholder management; Budget and cost control; Digital logistics tools (ERP, SAP, supply chain analytics); 10% Domestic and International travel; English Influence / Negotiation level; Authorised to work in the US

Master degree in the field listed above; Experience in Airbus Operating System; Spanish/French/German speaking; SAP/ERP supply chain modules; Transport Management Systems (TMS); Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); Data analytics and forecasting platforms
