HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT, OPERATION THEATRE

Location: Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital. General description: Provide basic nursing care in accordance with established standards, work collaboratively with team members, and report any incidents or issues to relevant authorities to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. Job description includes organization and management duties, a daily routine of nursing and ward tasks, and assistance to trained staff in various aspects of nursing care, as listed in the responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Provide basic nursing care in accordance with established standards; Work collaboratively with team members; Report any incidents or issues to relevant authorities; Conduct regular nursing rounds to assess patients' needs; Prepare and tidy patients' beds and linens; Disinfect beds, furniture, and equipment; Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living; Assist trained staff in transporting patients to and from the operating theatre; Dispatch specimens to the laboratory and collect results; Collect pharmacy and surgical supplies to maintain adequate stock levels; Assist trained staff with nursing care such as patient comfort, safety, nutrition, hygiene, dressing, intravenous lines, and catheterization; Lift, turn, and position patients safely; Attend meetings held by the service

Requirements

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia; Basic Life Support; Able to converse fluently and write in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Interpersonal and communication skills; Caring, honest, and responsible worker; Willingness to work scheduled hours, shifts, weekends, public holidays, and any time called during an emergency

Nice to have

Certified healthcare assistants would be a priority; Experience working in a hospital setting is an advantage
