Interior Blaster

UTLX is looking for Interior Blasters for our 3rd Shift to join our team. The shift is Sunday - Thursday, 10:30 pm - 6:30 am. Primary Job Functions: Prepares the interior or exterior surface of the tank or hopper car for coating or lining by removing rust, weld slag, scale or other foreign contaminants by directing shot laden compressed air from hand held blast nozzles; uses safety approved air gun to remove grit and dust after blasting; removes protective car coverings, inspects the car for damage; removes weld spatter, laminations, and sharp edges by grinding; vacuums complete interior; selects coatings, masks off components, mixes and applies coatings using airless spray equipment; cleans and maintains spraying equipment; monitors bake temperature; applies decals; cleans completed interior coating prior to final inspection; maintains work area.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; Must be able to work effectively and efficiently both as a member of a team and independently; Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision; Dependable and reliable to show up for scheduled work shifts including overtime; Willingness to wear required PPE at all times and always work safely; Ability to understand and follow UTLX operating procedures and policies based on safety and field training; Ability to lift 50 pounds; Manual dexterity in operating control levers and buttons
